160 years of Inchcape

Inchcape Motors is the world’s largest independent international group in vehicle retail sales. The history of our group begins with a young car engineer and the founder of the group James Lyle Mackay, who took the title Baron Inchcape of Strathnaver.

Inchcape today

Inchcape Motors is one of the world’s largest independent automotive retail groups, operating in 30 countries and being the authorised dealer of 32 car makes. Inchcape has hundreds of thousands of clients everywhere in the world and every two minutes sells one car somewhere in the world.

Inchcape Motors Estonia OÜ or IME belonging to the international automotive sales and services group Inchcape Plc started its operation on 1 November 2004, taking over the sales and servicing of new and used Mazdas and Mazda spare parts in Estonia. Mazda car make has been represented in Estonia from 1993. Inchcape has 18 years of selling and servicing experience.

As from March 2005, Inchcape Motors Estonia OÜ is the authorised dealer of Jaguars and Land Rovers.

The main objective of Inchcape Motors Estonia OÜ (IME) is to strengthen the position of Mazda, Jaguar and Land Rover brands in the Estonian market first and foremost through excellent customer service quality.

In December 2008, a modern dealership centre was opened in Läike Road (Peetri village, Rae municipality), selling and servicing Jaguars, Land Rovers and Mazdas.

The agency of Inchcape Motors Estonia is the largest in the Baltic countries. The total area of the estate is 12,165 m², providing ample parking space for 230 cars. The sales hall area for new cars is 1,152 m² and the second-floor sales hall area for used cars is 1,179 m².

Servicing, bodywork and painting equipment and tools are state-of-the-art, measuring up to the highest technical and environmental standards. The service department has 28 lifts, two axle adjustment units, two brake and spring testing units, six bodywork stations, eight painting and preparation stations and two economical and quick gas painting chambers of which one is equipped with a lift.

Due to the high expectations of clients, a large automatic environmentally friendly carwash facility with a maximum cleaning rate of 12 cars per hour is planned in addition to hand-wash stations. All the water used for washing cars is recycled, so that the amount of clean water required for the operation of the facility is reduced to about a tenth. Also, the centre accommodates a “tyre hotel” of 330 m², where our clients can store their spare tyres.
